Museum Art Hotel, New Zealand wins Dilmah Real High Tea Global Challenge 2015!

The Revolution that swept across 14 countries over eight years finally came to an end on 4th July 2015 at a special Award Ceremony held at the Waters Edge Hotel in Sri Lanka. The tea-inspired journey culminated in a thrilling victory as Team Museum Art Hotel from New Zealand clenched the prestigious title of Dilmah Real High Tea Global Champions amidst applause and cheer.

The Dilmah Family congratulates the winners of the world’s toughest tea competition, Laurent Loudeac and Camille Furminieux from Museum Art Hotel for their innovative and inspiring performance at the Dilmah Real High Tea Global Challenge 2015.The passionate and evocative presentation by the duo from Museum Art Hotel New Zealand was awarded first place in recognition of excellence in the appreciation of tea, tea inspired gastronomy and mixology, in honouring the influence of nature in tea, and in crafting these into a luxurious experience that defines afternoon tea in the 21st century.

“We are so shocked, but very, very happy. We really didn’t expect to win. When we saw the competition we were up against -they were all so good- we didn’t think we would win. Everyone is so talented and Dilmah has really helped chefs and professionals in the field to strive for more and to achieve more. It’s an amazing feeling, winning the Dilmah Real High Tea Global Challenge. The experience in itself was incredible. The people we met, the things we leant were amazing. We worked so hard and we are so proud to win this for New Zealand. It means so much to us,” Laurent and Camille said on winning the trophy.

While the Hong Kong Cricket Club was awarded the 2nd overall winner’s title at the award ceremony, Café Turri from Chile emerged the 3rd overall winner of the challenge. 13 more awards were given out for different judging criteria by the Dilmah Founder Merrill J. Fernando & his sons, Dilhan and Malik, and the judges of the Dilmah Real High Tea Global Challenge 2015, Peter Kuruvita, Dilhan C. Fernando, Bernd Uber & Simon Gault.
