When Earl Met Rose - A sweet affair with Tea Inspired Cakes

February 14th, 2017

Chatham Street, Arcade Independence Square, Negombo Beach

We celebrated Valentine’s Day with tea inspired cakes presented by Award Winning New Zealand Chefs Jaimie Stodler and Josie Geimecke!

Jaimie Stodler, Queenstown, New Zealand’s Cup & Cake store owner and pastry chef, and her 2014 MasterChef New Zealand Runner-up Josie Geimecke, have been celebrated around the world for their gourmet desserts and hold the prestigious title of being National Winners at the Dilmah Real High Tea Challenge in 2016.

Served with love was a gourmet Chocolate Cake stuffed with an Earl Grey tea-infused salted caramel, topped with an Earl Grey tea-infused buttercream, garnished with shortbread cookie crumb, Earl Grey Tea salted caramel drizzle, handmade chocolate decoration and handmade fondant rose. This was romantically paired with Dilmah’s Galle District OP.

Next up was the aromatic Rose with French Vanilla tea-infused Cake Pops dipped in White Coveture Chocolate, dusted with raspberry powder, shortbread cookie crumbs and garnished with a handmade fondant heart. Its soulmate was Dilmah’s Natural Rosehip with Hibiscus.

Our romantic affair with tea inspired cakes end here, with a slight bittersweet note.
